Welcome To Stagecraft Dance & Theatre School
WELCOME TO OUR THEATRE SCHOOL
Stagecraft Dance and Theatre School has one central aim: to enable all our pupils to experience the fun, excitement, and challenge of performing while developing their own talents, strengths, and qualities. For this reason we accept all children, whatever their ability or experience. All that we require is energy and enthusiasm!!
The education that you will receive will be interesting, varied, and totally involving. We want our pupils to look forward to attending each class and to gain a real sense of achievement from them.

STRUCTURE
Our aim is to train children and adults in Performance Arts. We offer the opportunity to learn three skills: Dance, Drama and Singing. The classes are all taught by the principal, experienced and qualified teachers and assisted by trainee teachers of dance.
All of our teachers are carefully chosen by the principal (Carole Bennett) for their experience in working with children, as well as for their talent. Although Carole is heavily involved in teaching the classes, she is always be on hand to lead the staff, manage the children and liaise with parents. Each class will usually consist of children of similar age groups.
Performing is our main focus as we take children on the journey from audition, through to rehearsal, to the final performance, involving all pupils in every aspect of performing and creating confident, well-prepared individuals.
Every six months, pupils will take a dance examination in their chosen discipline. It is a rule of our school that all pupils take part in the exams to further themselves and enable them to move onto the next level with the rest of their class.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNIES
We love to see our pupils gain experience by performing to an audience. We give everyone the chance to perform in our Bi-annual main production held at Lowton Civic Hall. On the alternative year we organise an end of year Christmas performance.
We have given some of our pupils the opportunities to dance in shows at Her Majesty's Theatre, London, The Globe Theatre, Blackpool, The parr Hall Theatre, Warrington, The Lowry Theatre, Salford and the Opera house, Manchester. In July 2009 some of our pupils had the fantastic opportunity of performing at Shaftesbury Theatre in London's West End, a wonderful experience for all involved.
Here at Stagecraft we aim to give our pupils the best opportunites for performing that we can.
It's more than just Dance......
Toddlers love to move, stretch and jump. Teachers can introduce children to new ways of moving their bodies in entertaining and constructive ways. All forms of dance and creative movement can be beneficial and Children should be introduced to exercise as early as possible. Introducing your child to dance is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.
Dance promotes discipline, co-ordination, memory, flexibility, strength, line, grace and stamina. Performing builds positive self-esteem and confidence, helps with other sports and is just great fun! All children are capable of relating and understanding basic techniques that are shown to them and as long as a child can listen and stay focused, no age is too young to get them started.
Behind the Scenes at Stagecraft
Behind the scenes are a dedicated team of people, helping to organise and run the school in a professional manner. We have student teachers, parents of pupils, friends and family who are always willing to lend a hand or help at any of our organised events.
