PRINCIPALS PROFILE
Carole has been dancing since the age of 2 1/2 years and took most of her childhood dance training at "Lynda Rudd's school of dance" and her adult tuition from "Hyde school of dance". Encouraged by her parents Carole then went on to take her dance qualifications.
From 1981 she taught Tap, Ballet and Modern for a dance school in Stalybridge, alongside this she also opened her own adult dance classes which was very successful. Carole was also a keen member of local amateur dramatic societies and enjoyed being part of the dance team and chorus in many productions.
Carole is an established Cabaret Artiste and although she enjoyed singing from an early age, she only started singing professionally as part of a Duo in the late 1980's. In 1995 she started her solo singing career under the stage name of "Carolynn May". Performing at various clubs, theatres, hotels and holiday centres in North Wales, Yorkshire and the North West, she went on to win various entertainment awards including "Artist of the year" for three consecutive years and the "F C Blaimhires award".
Having re-located to Cadishead in 1998, Carole opened her own school "Stagecraft" and started teaching dance and drama to children in the area. The classes were taught in local clubs and church halls over several days of the week for the first few years and eventually Stagecraft Dance and Theatre School found a new home at Abbey Studios on Liverpool road, Cadishead. Stagecraft has now been at Abbey studios for 8 years and we have recently opened another studio and reception area in the upstairs of the building.
Carole is constantly up-dating her knowledge and qualifications and has just started her second year at university working towards a foundation degree in dance teaching. She is also working towards her fellowship exams which will give her the qualifications she needs to fulfill her dream of becoming a dance examiner.
